Skootamatta River
"The Skoot" is a spring run from Bon Echo Park to the Moira River around Madoc. This run is from the Flinton Road, County Rd 29 to the Upper Flinton Road. A nice day trip.
The Skoot from 'road to road' is a 'pool and drop' run meanding through a lot of flat areas. The drops are great, but one has to get from point A to B.
Points of Interest
This is a day trip... it is a 2 hr return trip to Kaladar from either Kingston or Ottawa.
The point of interests on the Skootamatta would be the first gorge. There are a couple of rapids leading to it, and there is a couple that have a camp there that you might see if you are there on a weekend (2019&2020).
Next point of interest would be the falls just downstream of the gorge. There was an old mill there at one point in time, but not much is left of it.
Just before Upper Flinton Road there is another small fall that can be portaged on river left. In high water, a bushwack on river right might be a safter option.
